Year 5/6 - 2020 - 2021: Owls Class
Hello Owl's friends and family .😊
Firstly , a very big thank you to all of you that rose to the design and make a Viking Long Boat Challenge .Your innovative and beautiful designs are a real credit to you and your child . Please keep checking Tapestry for weekly updates on what we have been doing - there are lots of photos, videos and examples of your child's work to look at.( Or contact the office if you need information as to how to set up one) here you see these magnificent creations in full effect on display as a fleet sailing into our classroom!.
We have been studying various creation stories including those of the Christian, Islamic, Jewish and Hindu faith and have really enjoyed presenting our learning in different ways including devising a puppet show with a script and a colourful and informative comic strip. In science we're investigating Inheritance and Evolution. Discussing Darwin's theory of Evolution .We invited Vicar Chris to school speak to us and answer our questions on creation versus evolution...a very interesting discussion indeed !
We are continuing to enjoy our Vikings Topic -writing newspaper reports ,non-chronological reports and diary entries to link our history and geography targets with our English studies,
Our class reader is Orphans of The Tide - we love this -please ask your child what is currently happening .It really is an exciting and gripping tale ,I am sure you will enjoy it too !
All the children continue to settle into the new school routines brilliantly and are keeping safe and well – they have done you all proud! As always, any problems please catch me at the end of the day or drop me an email – happy to talk and look forward to a brilliant year.
