Each Monday throughout lockdown, a different theme will be posted via Facebook and pupil Tapestry account for all year groups, families and local community members to enjoy and respond to in any artistic way of their own choice...
Lydd Primary School’s Art Club is as a platform to celebrate self-expression, be imaginative and communicate through creativity.
Responses to the theme can be through any media.
Theme for the last week is SPRING
LYDD’S LAST LOCKDOWN ART CLUB 2021
The sun has been shining and on your walks around your local area and in your gardens you may have seen signs of Spring time!
Snowdrops have been bravely, nosing through frozen ground and now the early bulbs have come through and we can see the purple crocuses in the area outside our school reception. Yellow daffodils are cheering us up along the sides of roads on grassy banks, they remind me of trumpets blasting out a tune! The shapes and colours are very inspiring and will make some beautiful observational studies in water colors or colouring pencils.

Look out for frogspawn in ponds. Frogs will even lay in ditches or tractor ruts so it is worth a peek in those places when you are out on a spring walk just in case you see them. The shapes of the globules of jelly with the developing tadpole in the middle are fascinating to study and make great ideas for bubble printing.

Spring is a busy time for trees, you will notice things we don’t always recognise as flowers or blossom, such as pine cones and the catkins of hazel or birch. They have beautiful shapes and are lovely to draw.
The first sign of a bumblebee or butterfly is a sure sign that spring is on its way. Why not make your own butterfly?

When you hear the buzz of the lawn mower for the first time in a year, you know spring is here. The smell of newly cut grass invites picnics and the thought of happy summer days to come. What about painting a picnic scene or goodies are inside your picnic basket?

There is nothing so uplifting as seeing fluffy white lambs leaping with the joy of life in the fields, so how about a collage of a lamb! What materials do you have at home? This bubble wrap fleece is such a clever idea!

Let us make this last ART CLUB theme the BEST ONE EVER and let’s show everyone how wonderfully creative and imaginative we are!
