School Closure Information

In the event of adverse weather conditions, the website will be updated on a daily basis . Parents and carers are asked to check listed announcements on Heart FM and BBC Radio Kent and the Kent Closures Website at: www.kentclosures.co.uk  where you can also sign up for alerts and via SMS (charges apply).

 

School will remain open as long as it is safe to do so. With the time of year, your school will currently be putting in place measures to ensure that it can remain open, and also to ensure that it commuicates with parents and carers about any necessary closures as soon as possible. Where an SMS alert service is available in schools, these will be sent out along with closure notifcations on local radio and websites.

The Kent Closures website will display the change of the ‘status’ of the school to ‘open’, ‘closed’ or ‘partially closed’. The information will then be displayed on the website for parents and staff. In addition, when the status of a school is changed the information is shared with Kent radio stations so the closures can be broadcast.
