School Trips and Visits

During the course of the year various visits will be arranged for the children. These will involve excursions to places of interest to support themes and topics being covered in class.

The school will also be visited by a variety of performers and artists. The purpose of these visits and events is to broaden the children’s educational experiences.

We will let you know when a trip is being organised and ask for a contribution to the cost. All children are expected to participate in organised visits.  To make sure we are able to secure the funding for planned trips, we will notify you of any we are planning to do to ensure there is sufficient take up.  We will then ask for a deposit for your child.  With school budgets being significantly cut, the school cannot sustain the additional cost of a trip due to non-payment.  We will need to set a deadline for full payment to be received for each trip - this will be four weeks before the trip takes place.  We are conscious of not letting the children down and we know how much they enjoy and are enriched by the opportunities that school trips provide.  However, if we do not have the required income the trip will be cancelled.

For local visits within the town we ask that carers complete a permission form when children join the school. For trips further afield and those involving adventurous activities we ask that event specific forms giving consent are filled in and returned to the school.
